Thursday thoughts: Team retreat
Apologies for the late post! I almost let this one slip.
I’m currently in Nashville, TN with my Steadfast team for our annual retreat. We’re an entirely remote staff spread across (at least) five states, it’s our opportunity to meet in person for a few days to discuss bigger-picture challenges and opportunities.
This year, we designed an itinerary based on Karen Reyburn’s company’s retreats:
We allowed for plenty of time for fun, rest, and fresh air.
We included various types of engagement in the agenda, from full staff to teams to one-on-ones.
We centered our discussion plans around a book, which we assigned and bought for everyone about a month before the retreat. We read Morgan Housel’s The Psychology of Money. (I’ll post a review here soon.)
Now your thoughts…
Does your firm have a staff retreat? If so, how is yours organized?
Next week, I’ll be teaching 8 hours of CE at the ME-NH NATP Fall Seminar and Annual Meeting. And in two weeks I’m teaching two classes at the Latino Tax Pro Success Fest in Tampa. Let me know if I’ll see you at either of these!
